Do you really need all those books, shoes, clothes, kitchen gadgets, decorator items? Manufacturing and shipping of items is a major contributor to greenhouse gases on the planet. How many item do you have in duplicate? Do you have things in storage that you aren’t using (and likely never will?) What can you pass on to others so they don’t need to buy a newly-manufactured and shipped commodity? Buy what you do need at estate sales, garage sales or thrift stores. Join the Buy Nothing group and share your surplus with others.
Do you really need foods from shipped from around the world? Cut down on the greenhouse gases used from shipping foods from other countries – buy locally and in season. Also buy organic and keep our soil and yourself healthy and free of toxins.
